Unveiled as a show car alongside the production Up! at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, the GT Up! concept pictured above incorporated 17-inch alloys to fill those little wheel wells, a new front end with wider grille, bigger brake ducts and integrated LED accents, as well as a diffuser, spoiler and twin exhaust pipes installed around back.
With more aggressive front fascia, a wider track and add-on fender flares, there's no doubting that this is a pre-production prototype if the RS Avant. Big ceramic brakes underneath A8 wheels only seem to further confirm the car's RS status. It is expected that the RS 6 will use the same 4.0 TFSI biturbo V8 as the S6, S8 and the new Bentley Continental GT V8.
Expected to be longer and wider than the current model, the redesigned Golf will ride on the new MQB platform which recently debuted on the Cross Coupe concept. Our spies have only managed to catch heavily camouflaged prototypes, but the model is expected to have sleeker styling with a steeply-raked windscreen and a lower roofline. There's also word of a sportier cabin with a new instrument panel that is angled towards the driver.
